New Walk
Last of the Summer Wine found a route from Corsedarder Stone to Strachan. Started at Corsedarder Stone on road between Finzean and Aboyne.
Followed new signpost and path to the top of Toms Cairn. From there followed open ground over Glacks Hill to find a new track with red markers. This took us to the road opposite the Shooting Greens car park.
Followed the track from Shooting Greens overlooking Birse keeping to the south side of the hill.
Crossed over fence into open ground and headed towards Scolty. Before summit went SE to corner of wood to gain new path taking us down to Strachan.

Angus Auchmithie
Summer Wine again! Went to old fishing village of Auchmithie between Lunan Bay and Arbroath. Fantastic path follows the top of the cliffs all the way to Arbroath - out and return around 8 miles. There is a bus from Auchmithie at 10.35am M-S to Arbroath so you can leave the car at Auchmithie and walk back from Arbroath. Wonderful cliff scenery and bird life. Wild flowers abound. A definite must!! There is a path from the village to Lunan Bay but have yet to explore this one.

Aberdeen - Cove Coastal Path
Summer Wine headed up to do the peatandheather Newburgh walk, but at Newburgh it was raining, so headed to Doonies Farm just south of Nigg Bay. Took the coastal path to Cove and back which gave us a dry walk. You don't realise just how close you are to Altens. Lots of Gannets heading north - maybe they knew wher there was good weather. Added attraction to one of our number saw several trains going by. Saw one dolphin. Usually there are many close to the mouth of the Dee. The longer walk is sign-posted from Duthie Park in Aberdeen
