Altitude Training Locations???? ( Post=264 Parent=2 )
Hello Folks,New to the site today. Signed up in the hope of some useful information. Can you Help??I am a Boxing Coach located in the City Centre of Aberdeen. Over recent years, Altitude training has become a useful tool for training Athletes fom all sports. The thin air works wanders in expanding the lung capacity. This means that when Althletes return to lower groud to compete, they are more than prepared for the conditions.I am hoping regulars on this site, both walkers and cyclists, would be able to help me find a location that has the following criteria.1) It must be roughly 300m above sea level? (the higher the better)2) It has to be a minimum of 4 miles (6.5k) in length? (the longer the better)3) Preferebly Circular.4) It must be within the Grampian region, maybe within 30-40 miles from the City Center.5) Any walks or cycles with facilities such as Shower blocks etc would be a bonus, but I realise the likleyhood of this is slim.?6) As stated, cycle routes and walking routes would both be fine as they will be running them anyway!7) And Finally, Dog Friendly. I like to walk the runs before they run them!I hope this will help you help me. Like I say, if it's high and it's tough, that'll do for me. Although the guys at my gym won't thank you I imagine!!!I look forward to you replies! Thanks,Tam.
